On Saturday, European and American Pokemon Go gamers found themselves unable to play the game as the global servers have crashed due to its high demand and usage in these locations. The 26 newly added locations in Europe who could now play the game took advantage of the good weather in their areas to catch Pokemon.
However, several users have gone into social media to say that they have been experiencing server connectivity lags. Some users said that the game tends to freeze a lot as they play. A hacking group known as PoodleCorp said that they were responsible for shutting down the servers as noted in a report in Reddit.
Niantic has confirmed that the servers are currently down and announced on its website "Due to the incredible number of Pokemon Go downloads, some Trainers are experiencing server connectivity issues. Don't worry, our team is on it."
Since it was released in Europe, several server crashes have been reported by Niantic due to the popularity and demand for the game.
