“Christianity and Moral Construction in Modern China” Seminars Held in Beijing

From Nov. 7 to 8, the seminars, "Christianity and Moral Construction in Modern China," was held in Renmin University of China. About 30 representatives from China mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan and North America discussed the relationship between Christianity and the moral construction in modern China in different perspectives.

There were eight seminars in total with four seminars held per day. The main themes of each seminar respectively are: "Christianity and Moral Construction in Modern China," "Christian Theology and Ethnics," "Religions and Ethnics," "Cultural Conversation and Moral Construction," "The Power of Tolerance: Love's Mediocrity and Magnificence," "Christianity and the Modern Moral Change," "Christianity and Contemporary Moral Construction," and "Rethink on Christianity and Moral Construction in Modern China ." In every seminar five speakers spoke about their different views. There were Q&A, feedback and communication after each seminar. 24 speakers presented their speeches in these seminars in total. 

The seminars were mainly held together by the School of Philosophy of Renmin University of China, the Christianity and China Research Center, the Institute for Advanced Study of Religions, the Center for Religions and Business Ethics Studies, the Institute of Buddhism, and the Religious Studies and International Buddhism Research Center of Renmin University of China.
