The festivities for Chinese children for Children's Day has been colorful thanks to the various efforts of the YMCA and YWCA chapters in China.

According to the report of the National Council of YMCAs in China, Guangzhou's YMCA chapter held a children's creativity festival in a community on May 28, featuring art exhibitions, DIY clothes show, talent shows, and creativity booths. All of the exhibited art works were created by the children in the community and those from nearby areas.

At the same time, the faculty, staff, students and their parents in a primary school visited a carnival sponsored by the Beijing YWCA after the establishment of a social service base in the primary school. They also held a soccer match, urban-rural exchange forums, a parent-child fun sports meet and a treasure hunting game for parents and their children.

When it comes to Xi'an, at least 90 left-behind children were able to visit a local theme park and the provincial history museum thanks to Xi'an's YMCA chapter. According to some sources, Xi'an YMCA has been conducting programs for left-behind children every Children's Day since 2001 so that they can enjoy tours around cities.

Wuhan YMCA also took part in the celebrations for Children's Day by launching a program that would invite the parents of 321 local left-behind children from a kindergarten to interact with them on May 30. The children who took part in the program received gifts.
