If you have been single, you might be subjected to comments which makes you wish you want to get lost or you feel like you are walking around with a huge expiration date all written out in your body.
Comments like, "Why are you still single?," or "You are too late, you won't have any good guys now?," or your auntie's favorite line: "When will you have kids?" comes every now and then.
People seemed unfamiliar with your accomplishments from your job and they focused more on your single-ness, when will you be getting married or have kids. You are not alone.
Here are the things fun and respectful ways to respond to people who insist that your worth is tied down with your relationship status:
I am alone not lonely.
Okay, so it does not mean that if I am alone and do not have boyfriend, I am lonely and need someone to take care for me and so on. Actually, I love prefer being alone and I have all my family, friends and loved ones who will be there for me.
I am single and not desperate.
If you think being in a relationship makes you popular or happy, think again. I don't want to tie down my happiness in one person plus I am taking my time in finding the special one for me with the help of my prayers and God's will.
I am mine before I am anyone else's.
Before I get tied down in my boyfriend and act like someone's girlfriend, I need to figure things out for myself. I need to know what I like, what I don't like and so on and so forth. So that I will be firm and I will know how to be myself when I met the man of my dreams and my fated half.
