Having carried out social rehabilitation and voluntary services for a decade for teenagers with Down syndrome and their families, a charitable organization hosted a meeting for summary and recognition at the beginning of the year.
On January 9, Cao Shengjia, the president of the volunteer service center of Reed’s Home in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province, shared about these special teenager’s pursuits of dreams, the wheelchair service for the disabled and elderly, and free service for the aged, as well as the miracles that happened to him.
Then, teachers, parents, and a band of children with Down syndrome gave performances. The audience applauded children and their parents for three programs, such as "Happy New Year", "Two Tigers" and "Jingle Bells".
After the performance, Shi Yun, former vice president of the Zhenjiang Charity Federation, affirmed the achievements of Reed’s Home in helping the disabled in recent years. On how to continue to do a good job in Zhenjiang's charitable cause, Ms. Shi put forward hopes and work requirements in four aspects, including promoting the culture of charity, enhancing the effectiveness of charity work, strengthening self-organization, and providing a strong guarantee.
At the conference, the center announced that it would conduct visits to the disabled and poor people before the 2022 Spring Festival, which falls in early February.
