Beijing launched the first forum on the sinicization of Christianity, which was themed "Unity.”

CCC&TSPM said that on October 20, at the Beijing Conference Center, a seminar was held with the theme of "Systematic Theology" in Christian Orthodoxy. The goal of the seminar was to create a theological framework for localizing Christianity and encourage its integration with Chinese traditional culture.

At the opening, Rev. Wu Wei, president of the China Christian Council (CCC), emphasized that the sinicization of Christianity was the surest way to ensure the continuity and development of Chinese Christianity. He said that we should explore doctrines and rules to promote social harmony and development as well as cultural progress while maintaining traditional beliefs, core doctrines, and liturgy. Rev. Wu also elaborated on Christian doctrines and regulations according to the development of contemporary China and Chinese traditional culture.

The forum encompassed group discussions on “History and Current Situation of the Sinicization of Christianity,” “Definition and Factors of Theology,” “Relationships Among Theology and Other Disciplines,” and “Methods and Classifications of Theology.” Additionally, attending guests were invited to visit the Beijing Sinicized Christianity Cultural Exhibition Hall.

Over 200 experts and academics from Beijing's universities and research institutions took part in the "Unity" seminar, which was hosted by the School of Philosophy at Renmin University of China, the Beijing Committee of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM), and the Beijing Christian Council (CC), in collaboration with the Research Institute of Religion at Minzu University of China.
