How does one conduct a topic prayer meeting? Perhaps Yanjing Theological Seminary can teach you something. The prayer meeting returns to the traditional way, including self-examination, praising and thanksgiving, sermon and praying for others.
Yanjing Theological Seminary (YTS) is a higher education religious school of Chinese Christianity and its mission is to cultivate teachers and pastors for the churches in the ten provinces of north and northwest China. Since its foundation, YTS has trained over 800 pastors and teachers for the ten provinces and most of the graduates serve in the local churches.
On Sept. 21, YTS held a topic prayer meeting for the seminary students. During the self-examination part, Christian classical music was played in the background while the students prayed silently, examining themselves to know God more.
Then came the praising and thanksgiving part. After this, Pastor Tian Dong gave the sermon. Ptr. Tian encouraged the students to cherish the time, to equip themselves with efforts and to strive to be used by Lord, quoting verses 11-24 from Chapter 15 of John.
In the praying part, Guo Guangsheng, the president of the Student Union and the secretary, Li Jian, prayed for the freshmen of 2015 and all the students respectively.
