Among them there was a special senior, Ms. Hou. Ms. Hou, at the age of 76, traveled a long way from her hometown(Jilin) to Beijing to get baptized accompanied by her daughter Shi Lei. Standing in front of the audiences, Hou, filled with satisfaction and joy, confessed her belief and accepted the baptism by Rev. Bian and her daughter whimpered for this happy moment.

There were also two twin sisters and a couple who got baptized. Rev. Bian blessed them and their families. "The best blessing in the life is to know the Lord Jesus Christ."

It was the Christians in Qinghua University who first gave donations and purchased six commercial apartments on Haidian South Street.Under the supervision of Rev. Li Benyuan, renovations were completed and the church was named “the Evangelical China Fellowship”. It was on October 6, 1915, that it then started serving the public. Mr. Wang Jishan was the first director of the church. Very soon afterward, the Board of Directors was established in 1918, and Mr. Liu Tingfang served as president of the Board. In the Fall of 1925, the congregational church officially approved that the Evangelical China Fellowship be renamed “Haidian Christian Church”.
