A five-men high tree shone bright in the square in front of Beijing Haidian Church At 7pm,Dec 6. Meanwhile, some hundreds of people sang the hymn "To God Be The Glory" in high voice.
This is the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony Beijing Haidian Church holds in the evening of the third Sunday before Christmas. "We're here to celebrate the birth of Jesus...Jesus is God's only son and he loves us so we rejoice here. How great is such grace! Let's sing Amazing Grace to begin the worship." said Rev. Wu Weiqing at 6pm, the senior pastor of Haidian Church.
Over ten college students of its campus fellowship performed dances like Come, Sing Loudly and All Songs and Praise. Their lively performance attracted the people to sing and dance along with them.
Rev. Wu invited all the believers to cry "Hallelujah" in the open square. He also invited some parents who were holding babies in their arms to walk into the stage and bless them.
At 7pm sharp, in the countdown "ten...nine...two...one", a Christmas tree with about five-men height was immediately lightened.
