James Hudson Taylor IV Preaches Sermon in Jiangsu

Last Sunday, James Hudson Taylor IV, the great-great grandson of the founder of the China Inland Mission (or OMF International), delivered a sermon "Christ's Love" in the Hudson Taylor Memorial Church or Xuande Church in Zhenjiang.

The church reported that he shared the love of Christ through three perspectives "Love of Seeking", "Love of Experience" and "Love of Inspiration", citing Ephesians 3:18, Romans 8:35 and 2 Corinthians 5:14. 

It is said that the purpose of his visit to Zhenjiang was to arrange the interior decoration of Hudson Building and exhibition space.

James Hudson Taylor came to China in 1853 as a missionary and dedicated his life to the country and the mission in China. In 1905, he passed away in Shanghai. He was buried next to his first wife, Maria Dyer Taylor, and four of their stillborn children in a cemetery of Zhenjiang, according to his wishes. 

In 1988, James Hudson Taylor III, the great grandson, his wife and a pastor of Zhenjiang Church discovered Hudson Taylor's tombstone, which was found in the Zhenjiang Museum.

On August 28, 2013, the couple's tombs were moved to the Hudson Taylor Memorial Church which built Hudson Building to commemorate this great missionary. 

"If I had a thousand pounds, China should have it; if I had a thousand lives, China should have them. " This is Hudson's most famous saying.
