Gucheng Church of Lijiang, Yunnan will hold the 10th founding anniversary on November 20, 2016 and fellowships are currently preparing the programs for this event.

Back in 2003, Lijiang City set up Gucheng District and an old church in the district survived, which has become a dangerous building charged by the local authority. As a result, there hasn't been an open church for some local Christians who live in the district before 2006 and they had to attend services in Yulong Church, located in the western suburb.

Later, the first legal Christian church in the district -- Gucheng Church, was approved to open and the new church started its first service with over ten believers in attendance on November 5, 2006.

With the development of the city, the ministry prospered and many migrant workers came to gather in the church. In the next three years, the number of the congregation reached to more than 100, which exceeded the church's capacity. It moved to a bigger place which was enlarged with two more floors.

Currently, more than 200 believers regularly attend services in the church. In 2010, the district CCC was founded, a motivational power to the evangelism ministry.

The church has three full-time preachers and one pastor, who all have graduated from seminaries offering services in Nashi language, Lisu language and Mandarin Chinese. Fellowships are divided by age: for the aged, middle-aged and young people.

Similarly, it has three choirs for the three age groups and a joint choir comprised of excellent members selected from the three choirs. Its Sunday school has 15 teachers, tutoring over 50 students in Sunday services.
