"To continue the ministry of the Gospel, we need to develop more fellow workers," Pastor Yang Huai'en, Principal of Macao Bible School, said during his sharing of Acts.
In the Bible, Barnabas was sent by the church in Jerusalem to go to the church in Antioch, and then he went to Tarsus to look for Saul. The two worked together. In a way, it can be said that Barnabas was Paul's guide. In the Bible, Barnabas was always quiet. Later they separated after the disagreement about Mark. Paul chose another companion, Silas, and then Timothy to serve God.
In the Bible, Paul had different companions at different times. More and more people participated in service like this. "The church should do the same. We should foster more fellow workers. It is such a big mission that we need more people involved and more fellow workers to be developed."
To continue the ministry of the Gospel, more than a few people are required. Instead, a group of people, even generations, must participate in it. Of course, new fellow workers may face many trials at first, but they need time and opportunities. In fact, after Paul parted with Barnabas, he suffered many difficulties in his ministry for a long time. They were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia, nor did Jesus allow them to go into Bithynia. Maybe after the separation with Barnabas, Paul couldn't control the situation until he had the vision and went to Macedonia.
Acts showed that the proclaiming of the Gospel ended in Rome. However, it is the new generation's job to preach the Gospel from Rome to the end of the world. It was the job of Titus and Timothy. Nowadays, the mission falls on our shoulders. The Chinese also have a share in proclaiming the Gospel to the end of the world.
