On Dec 1, Xifeng Church of Qingyang, Gansu, has finished the first Bible study series on Exodus, ending the study journey that lasts more than seven months. The series contains exceeding 80 studies, starting from April 2016. In the beginning, the church led the believers to study the book once a week, later increased two more weekly studies.
Brother Zhang Yonghao, who graduated from Yanjing Theological Seminary in July 2015, started a Bible study on Exodus in that September. When it came to the second study headed by him, the believers almost forgot his past sharing, which triggered his idea of leading Bible study series.
Zhang tells CCD that the church had around 10 Bible study leaders who taught different books in turns once a week in the past and it took about two months to attend the second study led by the same person. Consequently, believers found it hard to taking notes since they had to write the information on different books on different pages.
His idea was recognized by the pastors and believers, he says. But his proposal of adding two more studies in a week brought about disagreement from some believers. However, most of the believers have succeeded in keeping pace with the studies.
Sister Wei Ting who joins in the study states that it enables her to remember the figures in the Bible and increase her interest in the study. Another two sisters days that they understand better the will of God through this.
