Every new year, we provide ourselves with lists of things we wanted to achieve for the whole year. There are some that we always end up not doing the last year so we will need to redo and try this year. However, as a Christian, do we have to follow any principle to make new year's resolution?
According to an article, there are some principles we need in order to guide us and help us create a better, helpful and in accordance with our faith new year's resolution.
Be Sensible.
We need to be sensible and reasonable in making our new year's resolution. We need to create resolutions which we know we can do with our hardwork and help from God's words as guidance. We need to consider this or we will end up not doing anything or not having any guidelines for the whole year.
Be Dependent.
When I say dependent, it means as a Christian, we need to be dependent to God in making our decisions. We do not want to make our decisions, whether big or small, with just no one to depend or trust. As we can read on the Bible, we need to rely and trust God.
Be Humble.
In creating your new year's resolution, you do not need to bring out big things in order to prove to others that you can make it. Be humble. Let us say, it is between you and God only. Be hardworking and let your success make noise. We need to seek guidance from the Lord humbly, too. In asking if he could help us with our endeavors, we need to be true to ourselves and seek humbly His help.
