On March 28, 2017, the Gospel Church of Huinong District, Shizuishan, Ningxia, held the cornerstone-laying ceremony for its new church construction with more than 300 people in attendance.
Rev. Li Renzhong, the executive director of Ningxia TSPM, and representatives from other brother churches gave speeches in the event. The church's Rev. Wang Baorui said that the new two-story church will cover an area of 9976 m2 or 2.465 acres, with a construction area of 2570 m2 or 0.635 acre. The sanctuary will be built on the church's second floor, which can seat around 1000 people together with a side chapel also located in the same floor.
Originally a warehouse, the current church was forced to be relocated due to its location, which was close to a coal mine subsidence area, and the destroyed foundation caused by a near real estate construction. It received a grant of land of 15 mu or 2.471 acres from the local government. The coming church construction is estimated to cost over 7 million yuan.
