Daming County Church in Handan, Hebei sent nearly two tons of clothing that they had gathered to poverty-stricken areas in Yunnan on April 7.

According to Elder Peng Guolin of the CCC&TSPM of Daming County, the donated clothing had been collected since the 2017 Spring Festival. The clothes were mostly from different neighborhoods in Daming County.  Each of the 42 large bags weighed between 40-50 kg.  After the clothes were sorted by the church, they sent the clothes that were almost new to the recipient areas through a logistics company.

This is the fourth time the church has donated clothes to impoverished areas.  It began in 2016 and supported by the local government. They bought over 50 recycling boxes for old clothes, each costing about 800 RMB, to put in different residential areas for donations.

The mailing cost comes from donations by brothers and sisters.  The first load of clothing was sent through China Post and cost around 7,200 RMB.  Previous donations have been sent to Guizhou and Yunnan. Recipients of these clothing donations were both Christians and non-Christians.
