Several churches of Ningbo, including the Centennial Church, held an opening ceremony for its blood donation event after the Easter Sunday service held on April 16, 2017.
According to ccctspm.org, 218 believers volunteered to give blood in five donation stations and the total blood volume collected reached 63100 ml. The activity was sponsored by the Ningbo CCC&TSPM and organized by the Ningbo Center Blood Station.
On March 27, 2016, the Centennial Church held its first blood donation activity named as "Love Your Neighbor", appealing to the city's Christians to recognize Easter as the blood donation day for Christianity in Ningbo. A local pastor said that the purpose of the initiative was to awake Christian consciousness regarding the importance of blood donations and become witnesses for the Lord, commemorating Jesus' blood as a sin offering for us.
Apart from the church in Ningbo, many churches in Jilin, Hebei and Beijing launched blood donation campaigns this Easter in order to practice Jesus' teaching of loving God and people.
