Upon the invitation of the Malaysia Bible Society and the Chinese Church Committee of National Council of Churches of Singapore, a six-person delegation from the CCC&TSPM paid a visit to Malaysia and Singapore from July 19 to 26, 2017.
During the period, the Chinese delegation, headed by Elder Fu Xianwei, chairman of the TSPM, contacted the church leaders of the two countries, holding talks with the Council of Churches of Malaysia and the National Council of Churches of Singapore and giving interviews conducted by the major local Chinese newspapers. The team also visited the Malaysia Bible Society, the Chinese ministry department of the United Bible Societies, local churches, and social service organizations, preaching sermons and joining in a choir in Sunday services. The group communicated with Singapore's health minister as well.
Through the activities, the delegation spoke of the Belt and Road Initiatives, the freedom of religious belief in China, and the status quo of the Chinese church.
