Twelve symposiums on church senior care services were held by the CCC & TSPM in Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia in Northern China, from August 7 to 11, 2017. Sixty-nine workers attended the event.
In the opening ceremony, Rev. Kan Baoping, vice-president and general secretary of the CCC&TSPM, said that the courses covering theory and practice were held in the symposiums to promote high-quality service and management in church homes for the elderly.
The workers from Christian nursing homes in Inner Mongolia shared the examples of home-based care and care for disabled elderly, calling on joint efforts to build a system framework for elderly care, including the evaluation of disability levels, care service and health management.
Dr. Li Xiuxia, director of the service department of Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council, was invited to give courses. She introduced some advanced service concepts in Hong Kong, saying that a distinctive feature of Christian nursing homes is to serve with love.
