The eleven symposium on church senior care services was held by CCC & TSPM in Ji'nan, Shandong, from May 9 to 12, 2017. Ninety workers from fifty Chinese nursing homes attended the event.
In the opening ceremony, Rev. Gao Ming from the social service department of CCC&TSPM said that the senior service ministry is the church's responsibility and mission since China will have the largest aging population in the next couple of years.
The Uniting Church in Australia (UCA) provided technical instruction for the meeting. A key member of the church declared that God doesn't have eyes, hands or a mouth, but social workers serve as His eyes, hands and mouth. He gives us all kinds of blessings so that we're capable to shoulder the mission of social responsibility that He has given us.
