A special Christmas celebration was held in a high-rise building in Yaodu District, on the afternoon of December 16.
More than 30 believers from the surrounding communities gathered together to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ by singing hymns, reading the Bible and counting the blessings they received from God.
In the middle of the living room located in Linfen City, Shanxi province, the bright red cross was particularly eye-catching and the small Christmas tree on the side flickered. Although most of participants were elderly with gray hair, everyone was full of joy and happiness.
After reading Luke 2:10-13 and Matthew 2:1-12, pastor Wang Baoqin gave a sermon entitled, "Worshipping Him" to explain the meaning of the birth of Jesus Christ. He said when the Magi came with humble hearts and found the infant Jesus, they were willing to present precious gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. And he exhorted the believers to look to God with all their hearts, offer all they have to the Lord and live for Him. After that, the believers performed a program designed by themselves, including a choir, dancing and singing, solo singing, poem recitation and other presentations.
Several older sisters in their 70s or 80s sang "Here We Have the Presence of God" and "Lord, You Are a Friend Who Knows My Heart". They sang "We aged people, without blurred vision and hearing loss, are hearing God’s word. The Savior's grace is so great that we can enter the heaven with him…" With a rhythm and a gripping performance in local minor, a group of four presented the program of "The Essentials of Each Book of the Bible", explaining the main content of each book of the Bible through more than 100 sentences.
Afterwards, a male believer and two female believers shared their testimony of being healed by God, and expressed their determination to serve the Lord faithfully.
Finally, everyone sang "A Year's Journey" to thank God for his leadership and protection during the special year. Then Christmas gifts were distributed.
