Church leaders of Beihai, Guangxi Province went to a leprosy rehabilitation village to show sympathy before the traditional Lantern Festival.
Pastor Zhang Zhongye, president of the Beihai Municipal Christian Council (CC), and Elder Chen Kaosi, chairman of Beihai Three-self Patriotic Movement (TSPM), visited the leprosy survivors in Jiaolongtang, Hepu County, Beihai on February 24.
The lepers there are basically the believers of Beihai Simon Church located in the village of Jiaolongtang. It has become a common practice for the Beihai CC & TSPM to visit the village every holiday. Just before the Spring Festival, the pastoral staff of Beihai Church came to show concerns, post Spring Festival couplets, and help clean up.
Now that the Lantern Festival was coming, they drove there to visit again. The leaders were well aware that the lepers had no worries about food and clothing with the help of the government, people from all walks of life and the churches, but were instead more eager for the kind care, comfort, understanding and equal treatment from other believers. They brought 40 boxes of egg yolk pie as gifts, wishing them a happy holiday.
