The Christian basketball player, Jeremy Lin, announced on September 2 that he was discharged from the hospital and recovering, thanking the medical staff for their care and looking forward to training hard while in quarantine.
On August 7, Lin told his fans on China's Twitter Sina Weibo that he had contracted COVID-19. Eleven days later, the American Taiwanese posted that as his symptoms basically disappeared, he would soon return to the hotel for further quarantine. He also expressed heartfelt thanks to the medical staff’s work around the clock.
He wrote, “Yayyyyyyyyyy!! I was discharged from the hospital today! Thank you to all the brave medical staff, I am so touched.
"I just arrived at the hotel to start quarantine. I'm going to have a good meal! I don't know yet if there will be foreign aid in the CBA this season. If there is, then I will try to play attentively in front of the fans. If not, it doesn't matter, as long as the decision is beneficial to Chinese basketball, I will support it!
“I'd also like to thank my fans for all the support! I'll sleep well tonight! Good night!”
Fans left messages to encourage him,
“Brother Jeremy, hope to see you play soon!!!!!"
"Get some rest, have a good meal, see you on the basketball court."
"You look too thin, take care of your body and... Mandarin! Good luck."
"Great! Jeremy is finally out of the hospital and we hope you continue to shine on the court."
