Recently, Beizheng Street in Changsha, Hunan Province called for paper cuttings with the theme of Bible stories or verses.
The church said that it had plans to collect the traditional art pieces which serve to celebrate festivals or weddings in ancient China from the congregation from October 8 to November 14, in order to “express our love to God and expect the coming year”.
Good works will be made into a church calendar, the church added.
Built in 1905 and destroyed in 1910, Beizheng Street Church was rebuilt on the original site in 1911, and completed in 1915. It is a cultural relics protection site in a Gothic style in Hunan Province. Used for other purposes after liberation, it was reopened on December 20, 2004.
