A Jiangsu church held a launching ceremony of Bible transcription in the Suzhou dialect.
In the ceremony conducted last Thursday in the Apostle Church in Suzhou, China’s coastal-eastern Jiangsu Province, Pastor Huang shared the meaning and precautions of the copying of scriptures, followed by a speech from the oldest transcriber with the surname of Cao on behalf of all the copyists. Finally, they put their hands on the Suzhou dialect version of the Bible published in 1881, initiating the holy ministry in which 15 calligraphy lovers participated.
As a new attempt of the Sinicization of Christianity, "this activity is of great significance to the growth of Christians' spiritual lives, the development of biblical culture, and the inheritance of Suzhou dialect culture", according to Suzhou CC&TSPM.
