4 Churches Cease In-Person Gatherings to Curb Spread of Virus

Churches in Inner Mongolia and Jiangsu on Wednesday announced the suspension of on-site gatherings due to new local COVID-19 cases.

Tongshun Street Church and Nandian Church in Yuquan District, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, released temporary closures, as the local government reported that the city found three positive COVID-19 cases in the early morning of February 16.

St. Paul's Church in Nanjing, Jiangsu, announced that it would suspend face-to-face gatherings from that day on till further notice, while the Church of the Holy Word, Nanjing, said it would be in lockdown for two weeks.

From 12:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on February 15, Suzhou City in Jiangsu detected three new coronavirus cases. As of 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, the city has found a total of 11 confirmed cases and four asymptomatic cases in the latest outbreak, and all patients were being treated in designated hospitals, the Suzhou Municipal People's Government Information Office reported on Wednesday.
