To ensure safety in the place of worship, a church in southeast China’s Zhejiang Province conducted fire safety work while highlighting better epidemic containment.
With a history of 150 years, Jiaojiang Church in Taizhou required reception staff to arrive on Sunday half an hour earlier at the church gate to engage in the inspection activities for churchgoers who needed to have negative nucleic acid test certificates within 72 hours, the church reported.
Apart from replacing 59 portable dry powder fire extinguishers, the church organized believers, church council members, and ushers to participate in the fire safety training and fire drills. During the time, Kong Aiqing, leader of the church, explained common knowledge about fire safety such as the danger of fire, daily fire prevention and management, initial firefighting, and fire emergency evacuation, based on the characteristics of fire risk during the epidemic.
