A church in northeast China’s Liaoning Province hosted a communion service after three months of lockdown.
The central church in Changtu County, Tieling, Liaoning, resumed its in-person Sunday service on June 19, followed by the first communion service of the church in 2022 last Sunday.
Following the COVID-19 protocols, more than 200 churchgoers entered the church to worship God.
After hymns such as Curse He Bore, Blessing I Enjoy, Elder Chen Yu preached a sermon titled "Communion and Life", sharing three parts, including "Communion and Life of Self-Denial", "Communion and Life of Love", "Communion and Dedicated Life”, based on Luke 22:19-20 and Acts 2:46-47.
Singing the song Break Thou the Bread of Life, the congregation ate the bread and drank the cup.
Apart from believers, some newcomers participated in the service. Some non-Christians asked for baptism which will be conducted in August after the catechism class.
