Guangdong Churches Donate Supplies Amid COVID-19 Surge

Due to the new outbreak of the epidemic, churches in China's southeastern coastal Guangdong Province donated money and supplies to join the fight against the epidemic.

Besides Guangzhou Zion Church which donated materials to local police stations and communities, the Church of Our Savior donated a batch of supplies valued at around RMB 5,000 to local community neighborhood committees. Ci'en Church led its meeting points to donate anti-epidemic materials to the frontline staff members of the Huadu District Xinhua Street in Huadu District and Shiling Town governments, totaling an equivalent of about RMB 15,000 yuan, according to the Guangzhou CC&TSPM.

The Dunhe temporary meeting point affiliated with Henan Church donated a batch of anti-epidemic materials (alcohol, N95 masks, shoe covers, gloves) and 500 boxes of Nongfu Spring to Haizhu District, equivalent to about 33,000 yuan. The Xinjiaoxi temporary activity site belonging to the Church of Our  Savior donated another batch of anti-epidemic materials (20 boxes of protective clothing and isolation clothing) to Haizhu District, equivalent to a total of about 20,000 yuan.

Mainland China reported 1,623 new confirmed cases (564 in Guangdong) on November 15, and 18,576 new asymptomatic infections (6,215 in Guangdong).
