Some pastors and volunteers in cities and mountainous areas of China’s southeastern coastal Fujian Province were cared for and aided by a local church.
Fujian Yueshan Landscaping Co., Ltd. and Kuai’an Church in Fuzhou City conducted the third annual joint activity of visiting pastors before the Spring Festival on January 3 in West-Fujian Christian Training Center in Longyan City, said Longyan CC&TSPM.
At the symposium caring for paid pastoral staff and full-time volunteers, Rev. Lin Xinning, president of Mawei District Christian Council in Fuzhou and senior pastor of Kuai’an Church, introduced the origin of the activity. Supporting and donating to the construction and repair of churches, believers rarely care for pastors who serve silently in mountainous areas. Especially in some poor mountain villages, some clergy receive meager salaries but do their best to nurture Christians, which touches pastors and staff workers of Kuai'an Church, which carries out the event to help impoverished pastors better serve God.
Rev. Zeng Desheng, president of the Longyan Christian Council, introduced the basic condition of churches and pastoral staff teams in Longyan City, speaking highly of the act of the church which itself has a shortage of funds for reconstruction.
It is said that the visiting team also went to distribute 400,000 yuan to 220 pastoral staff and volunteers in five places of Nanping City and Ningde City, traveling nearly 2,000 kilometers in six days.
