Two Seminaries Kick off New Term

Recently, Nanjing Union Theological Seminary and Zhongnan Theological Seminary ushered in the spring semester of 2023.

The service and opening ceremony were conducted at Nanjing Union Theological Seminary, while the 2023 freshmen orientation for students attending the one-year volunteer staff training course and the church music training course was held at Zhongnan Theological Seminary.

Rev. Chen Yilu, executive vice president of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary, delivered a sermon on March 1 titled "Rise and Follow Me," based on Song of Songs 2:8–17, according to the seminary. He told the students to embrace their youth and take action, to know that knowledge was good for the soul, and to run after the Lord Jesus. He encouraged attendees that as life was returning to normal, they should move toward a brighter future. Also, they should embrace their youth, get in touch with nature, and try to know the beauty of God through studying theology.

Zhongnan Theological Seminary conducted an orientation on March 7 for the new students who joined the 2023 one-year volunteer staff training program and the church music training course, said Hubei CC&TSPM,

Rev. Zhao Qiufen, the academic dean of the seminary, introduced students who came from different churches in Hubei, and Rev. Zhang Shuilian, the executive vice president, talked about the history of the seminary. The vice president, who was in charge of the seminary library, gave an introduction to the library system, explaining the regulations for borrowing. Rev. Jiang Zhu then encouraged the freshmen to study hard and equip themselves during the year so that they might become a vessel that was useful for the Lord.
