A three-day training class on building the capacity of social service practitioners was conducted in Shaanxi to encourage and support grassroots churches to participate in social services.
CCC&TSPM and a meeting point on East 11th Avenue in Xi'an City co-hosted the class from March 21 to 24 in Xi’an, which was attended by nearly 40 pastoral staff from 20 grassroots churches across the country who participated in the incubation programs, reported the social service department of CCC&TSPM.
Given in two venues, the special lectures included "Volunteer Team Construction for Public Welfare Services," "Solve Persistent Problems in Social Welfare," "Face Acquaintances," "Incubation Process of Institutions," and "Accounting System for NGOs and NPOs" from senior domestic project consultants for NPOs, social workers, accountants, and leaders of social service ministries in churches, who also shared project experience.
On the last day of the training class, trainees visited a relief center named “Harmonious Home” in Xi'an, learning about its ministry of serving families of children with serious diseases from other places who seek medical treatment.
Since 2020, the social service department of CCC&TSPM has cooperated with the meeting point for four consecutive years to carry out related projects for the pastoral staff of 20 grassroots churches from all over the country.
By the end of 2022, 10 grassroots churches will have successfully registered and established public welfare organizations through training to carry out social service projects.
