A church in China's southeastern coastal Fujian Province celebrated the inauguration of three new female pastors.
Lin Lizhen, Zhang Gaoping, and Chen Saihua were installed as pastors in the Qiji (Seven Levels) Church in Xianyou County, said the Putian Municipal Charity Association.
After reading 2 Kings 2:9–12, Rev. Zhang Jiyou gave a sermon on the topic of "The Pursuit of the Prophet Elisha."
During the sermon, Pastor Zhang exhorted attendees to work hard with a clear goal, a correct attitude, and an alert mind.
Recalling the hard work of another three pastors when Xiaoyou Church resumed gatherings in the early days, Rev. Yang Shirong encouraged the three new pastors to carry on the spirit of the old generation of pastors.
In his congratulatory speech, Rev. Yue Qinghua, president of Fujian Theological Seminary, said that as a native of Xianyou, he devoted himself to theological education.
Giving their inaugural addresses, new pastors took turns counting God’s grace and guidance and expressing their faith and will to fulfill the Great Commission and shepherd believers well.
