A commemorative event in honor of World Book Day was conducted at Shandong Theological Seminary.
Rev. Li Hongyu, the consultant of the Shandong Provincial CC&TSPM, lectured on the origin of "World Book Day,” which falls on April 23rd, as the main content of the event on April 23, emphasizing the significance of reading, especially good books, and the role of meticulous reading in exploring truth, said Shandong CC&TSPM.
Furthermore, utilizing the data on the borrowing of books through the e-library, the library staff identified the "Borrowing Star" and the "Reading Star" of the e-library's collection. These distinguished readers shared their experiences and insights on reading, which helped others enhance their reading skills and appreciate the benefits of reading for both work and study. Furthermore, campus-wide awards were presented to outstanding readers.
In addition, Mr. Shi Jilong, a library staff member, demonstrated the usage of the college's e-book database. Each class was requested to nominate a participant for an engaging contest of book search, which augmented students' ability to obtain book information and assessed their familiarity with and utilization of the e-library.
