A church in southwest China’s Sichuan Province celebrated its 100th anniversary.
Gospel Church in Mianzhu City hosted a centennial celebration on May 28, with more than 600 guests from churches and other locations in the city, according to CCC&TSPM.
During the worship, Rev. Zhang Jian, vice chairman, vice president, and director general of Sichuan CC&TSPM, preached a sermon titled “Blessed Are Those Who Dwell in Your House.”
During the discussion, Rev. Gu Yumei from a church in Mianzhu introduced the architectural aesthetics of the Gospel Church, which reflects strong Chinese elements.
An in-depth discussion on the results, experience, and perspectives of the sinicization of Christianity in the church was conducted among leaders and staff members in authorities including the United Front Work Department of the CPC Mianzhu Municipal Committee, Sichuan University, the Amity Foundation, Shaanxi CC&TSPM, Sichuan TSPM, and Deyang TSPM. This discussion was followed by a musical performance.
Moreover, during the celebration, the Mianzhu TSPM distributed copies of the book titled “A Century-old Gospel Church in Ancient Mianzhu.”
