Following a dedicated three-year period focused on the renovation of Shanghai Community Church, adjustments have been made to the gathering schedule for youth fellowship.
The fourth youth gathering since the resumption of these gatherings at Shanghai Community Church after the COVID-19 pandemic took place on July 15th. The gathering time was adjusted from Wednesday evenings to Saturday mornings.
During the gathering, Rev. Zhao Xin delivered a sermon titled “Humility”, drawing from Micah 6:8. He emphasized the importance of understanding God first in order to develop self-awarenessand highlighted the critical need to recognize the limitations of human nature. Furthermore, he also expounded on the significance of humility, explaining that without a humble heart, one could not place himself in the appropriate position. Prior to the resumption of youth gatherings, a prayer team was established to address many matters concerning youth gatherings.
In February 2020, churches in many regions suspended their in-person activities due to the epidemic, and Shanghai Community Church embarked on renovation works. The church had faced challenges such as safety hazards in the main structure, water logging during the rainy season, and aging circuits due to long years of use. After three years of extensive renovation, the megachurch resumed in-person worship on Easter, April 9, 2023. In mid-June, prayer gatherings and youth gatherings gradually resumed.
