A church in Liaoning Province, Northeast China, held dance parties for elderly and young groups in a local city.
On August 25th, Yingkou Municipal CC&TSPM, held the ninth Joyful Choir’s Dance Party (the elderly group) for the sinicization of Christianity at New Life Church of Dashiqiao City.
Since 2005, the biennial "Joyful Choir’s Dance Party" has gone through 18 years, and the oldest participant in that dance praise, was already 80 years old, according to Rev. Hou Ming, deputy general secretary of the Yingkou Christian Council and Head of New Life Church.
Church members gathered here from different places and presented 31 dances.
The next day, Yingkou CC&TSPM held the "15th Peaceful Choir’s Dance Party (the youth group) for the localization of Christianity."
Recalling the first dance party thirty years ago, Rev. Hou Yujie, chairman and president of the municipal CC&TSPM and the initiator of the dance fellowship, said that fellowship of Yingkou CC&TSPM comprised of believers from more than 30 church and gathering sites from Yingkou City, Dashiqiao City, Bayuquan District, Xishi District, Zhanqian District, and Laobian District. At the beginning, some fellow workers could not even walk with the correct poses on the stage, let alone dance beautifully. However, looking back, attendees praised the dances that senior choir performed yesterday, and that day’s programs from youth choir were even more exciting, Hou continued.
The dance party was attended and watched by over 1000 participants, including leaders of Yingkou CC&TSMP&CCC, and heads of churches (gathering sites) in the city.
Thirty-three dance programs were presented by 31 church locations, including the program titled "Amazing Grace" from Bayuquan Church and "The Precious Cross" from the Dagaokan meeting point.
