Matthew Fung, the general secretary of Hong Kong Christian Communications Ltd., and his delegation extended their visit to Shanghai Municipal CC&TSPM after their prior engagement with CCC&TSPM.
On August 30, Rev. Xu Yulan, chairman of Shanghai TSPM, expressed appreciation for the years of support Christian Communications LTD. bestowed upon the churches in mainland China. Rev. Xu presented the delegation with the origins and recent developments of the East China Theological Seminary, stressing that the teaching content would be timely adapted according to different situations in urban and rural settings to provide the students with a theological education keeping up with the times.
During the meeting, besides briefing on the publication circumstances of Christian books in Hong Kong, Mr. Fung mentioned the renewal of the self-positioning of the publication industry and how to publish books with strong practicality in order to meet the pastoral requirements in post-pandemic times. He addressed the need for cross-media and cross-disciplinary collaboration to better achieve resource integration, strengthened cooperation, and the challenges of the era as opportunities for progress. Therefore, Fung expressed continuous support for the theological education ministry of mainland churches, anticipating more communication and interaction with Shanghai churches on topics of mutual interest.
