A cataract recovery charity event was held at a church in Fujian.
A series of eye disorder recovery charitable initiatives were conducted in Fujian from mid-June to early September 2023.
Staff members of Pingnan County CC&TSPM in Ningde started registration of the eye-disorder masses on June 12 after conducting a thorough survey, reported the municipal CC&TSPM. Subsequently, in collaboration with the Ningde Huaxia Ophthalmic Hospital, Pingnan CC&TSPM applied for an aid fund (other than social security funds) from Agape Charities, considering the life challenges and disease conditions of the recipients.
On September 4, medical experts from Huaxia Eye Hospital carried out a complimentary eye clinic at Chengdong Church in Pingnan County. They performed a range of ophthalmic examinations, including a fundus examination, slit-lamp evaluation, visual acuity test, intraocular pressure measurement, digital eye exam, blood pressure test, and blood sugar test, as well as provided consultation on eye-related ailments for believers and the public who suffered from cataract, fundus disease, shortsightedness, and myopia refraction.
During this charitable initiative, a total of 68 patients received a free clinic. Among them, 30 were diagnosed with cataracts; five had pterygium; an equal number had fundus diseases; and the remainder suffered from various other eye conditions.
