A series of events to celebrate the 73rd anniversary of TSPM and the 74th anniversary of the People's Republic of China were held in Guangdong, Fujian, and Shandong.
During the event held by Guangzhou CC&TSPM, Rev. Wu Wei, president of the China Christian Council (CCC), expressed in his speech on September 23 that the Guangzhou Christian Council (CC) has achieved results in contemplating and exploring the sinicization of Christianity, reported the WeChat account of the State Administration for Religious Affairs (SARA).
He urged Guangzhou CC&TSPM to excel in talent development and cultural construction through exploration and practice.
Rev. Fan Hong'en, chairman of Guangdong TSPM, stated in his address that Guangzhou CC&TSPM established Zhaoshi (Diligently Serving) Academy to assist churches in Guangzhou in talent development.
On the same day, they held the unveiling ceremony for the academy, which serves as a learning platform for systematic training and faith nurturing for believers. Meanwhile, Rev. Chen Sui Sheng, executive vice president of Guangzhou CC, presented plaques designating academy branches to 15 churches in the city.
Following this, the first day of classes at the academy began, offering lectures on spiritual growth, interpretation of religious regulations, an overview of the New Testament, introductory meditation, workplace faith, and world church history, with around 250 participants.
On the same day, they launched the new book "Research Series on the Sinicization of Christianity: Highlights From the Guangzhou Master's Lectures on the Sinicization of Christianity."
This event also featured an art and calligraphy exhibition on the sinicization of Christianity in Guangzhou, showcasing approximately 40 works including calligraphy, ink painting, paper-cut art, embroidery, oil paintings, Guangcai (Guangzhou-style porcelain painting), and woodcarving. These works drew inspiration from biblical verses, ancient poems, laws and regulations, landscapes, church architecture, and biblical figures.
Additionally, an exhibit displayed a full-text reproduction of the "Nestorian Stele in China," written according to the original size, as well as the Lord's Prayer from the 1854 edition of the Bible, written in ancient "Zhongding script."
On September 22, Jinan CC&TSPM in Shandong province held a calligraphy event and a singing performance at Jingsi Road Church, said the municipal CC&TSPM.
Pingnan County CC&TSPM in Ningde, Fujian Province, reported that it organized a study session on religious regulations and a tea gathering themed "Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day Celebration" on the same day at Chengdong Church.
The next day, Mawei Church in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, held a sacred music concert with over 300 members from churches and gathering sites in Mawei City, said Fujian CC&TSPM.
