CCC&TSPM announced the 2024 World Day of Prayer worship service to be held on Friday, encouraging Christian women to serve as salt and light at home and in society.
On March 1, CCC&TSPM unveiled the 2024 World Day of Prayer (WDP) program and worship service content on its official website instead of following the officially designated program.
It has been the third year that China's TSPM church observe this global ecumenical movement with its own material. According to the official website of WDP, WDP program 2024 was written by the World Day of Prayer Committee of Palestine, themed "I Beg You... Bear With One Another in Love" based on Ephesians 4:1-3. Moreover, the event was celebrated on March 1, the first Friday of March. Christian women across the globe exhorted congregations to love one another even under various difficulties and persecution.
However, the theme of the Chinese TSPM Churches' 2024 World Day of Prayer is "Unity, Harmony, and Peace" with prayers for church unity, motherland prosperity, and the active role of Christian women in promoting sinicization of Christianity as a response to scriptures from Ephesians 4:2–3, Psalm 65:11, James 3:18, and Proverbs 31:20–31.
The service is scheduled for Friday, March 8, International Women's Day. Made by CCC&TSPM and its Women and Youth Ministry Committee, the material consists of the procedures of the joint worship service and a background brief on the WDP movement. The third section of the service will introduce Ms. Deng Yuzhi, a pioneer of the women's movement in China, who was dedicated to establishing the YWCA night school for women workers pursuing civilian education. In addition, there will be testimonies from three winners of the first National Religious Advanced Individuals Award, including Rev. Chen Meijin from the Chongzhu Church of Chongming District, Shanghai City; Rev. Li Runxin from the Gospel Church in Jiangbei District, Chongqing City; and Senior Pastor Wang Hongli from the meeting point in Yingpan Township, Taihe District, Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province.
With a rich history spanning over two centuries, the World Day of Prayer occurs annually on the first Friday of March, drawing participation from Christian women worldwide.
