Meeting Announces New Book on Sinicization of Christianity Will Be Written Soon

At a recent meeting, the initial draft outline of A Reader on the Sinicization of Christianity was presented.

Rev. Yue Qinghua, vice president of the China Christian Council (CCC) and director of the committee, introduced the compilation process of A Reader on the Sinicization of Christianity, during the second plenary session of the current Committee for Advancing the Sinicization of Christianity under CCC&TSPM in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, from April 9 to 11, according to CCC&TSPM. 

Committee members held discussions on the outline of the book, focusing particularly on its target audience, the composition of the editorial team, and the painting and calligraphy exhibition on the sinicization of Christianity. A consensus was eventually reached on these matters.

The meeting also included a report on the committee's 2024 annual work summary and the 2025 work plan, aimed at further implementing the "Outline of the Five-Year Work Plan for Deeply Advancing the Sinicization of Christianity (2023–2027)."

In addition, a collective study session was held. Rev. Shan Weixiang, a deputy to the National People's Congress (NPC), shared insights based on the national context. He conveyed to participants the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech delivered during deliberations with deputies at the third session of the 14th NPC and the third session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee. He also shared the overview of the meetings, highlights of the 2025 government work report, and his personal reflections.

During the event, committee members also conducted field visits to the Guanghan CC&TSPM in Sichuan and Tian'en Church in the city, where they viewed exhibitions of the sinicization of Christianity.
