Jingzhou Shashi Church held a book-sharing meeting to stimulate believers’ passion for reading in Hubei Province.
Nearly 70 people attended the event on the evening of April 26, including pastors, group members, and seekers from Shashi Church, according to Jingzhou CC.
During the activity, a sister in Christ named Ye Zi introduced the origin and theme declaration of “World Book Day” and issued an initiative: read more to cultivate a good reading habit.
Five believers came into the pulpit to share. A Christian man named Zhu Zhan shared “Dad’s Exhortation," saying that the best gift that a dad can give to his children is a good family culture and a correct outlook on the world, life, and values.
A sister, Bo Jing, shared around the book The Purpose Driven Life, leading the group to think about the meaning of life and calling for pairs to read to promote each other.
Another Christian man named Qi Lulu said that in this book Believing written by Cai Lei, former vice president of Jingdong and ALS fighter, he recalled and reflected on his busy half-life, as well as showed how he faced desperate situations and never gave in, even though he was outmatched.
A woman Christian named Hu Die reflected on the book The Excellence Wife. Her husband also came to the scene to discuss the way husband and wife get along with each other and how to have a marriage life that pleases God. The couple agreed to continue to read the companion books The Excellence Wife and The Exemplary Husband together and to build a truly wonderful marriage with God’s guidance.
