The first working conference of the current overseas relations department of CCC&TSPM took place in Beijing.
At Chongwenmen Church on May 29, Rev. Lin Manhong, vice president and general secretary of the China Christian Council, introduced the responsibilities of the current overseas relations department, reported CCC&TSPM. She particularly emphasized the new requirements for the department in terms of the nature and duties of the organization. She expressed hope that the new members of the department would actively engage and take on their responsibilities.
Gu Jingqin, interim chief of the overseas relations department of CCC&TSPM and deputy director of the overseas relations committee, reported on the 2024 foreign affairs work plan. Subsequently, participants shared their experiences related to foreign affairs work in their respective regions, discussing the department's work. They proposed varied ideas and suggestions, including conducting research on foreign affairs work, organizing training for church foreign affairs staff, and integrating church foreign affairs resources.
Rev. Wu Wei, president of the China Christian Council, emphasized the importance of foreign affairs work for the development of Chinese Christianity. He urged attendees to study and research both domestic and international situations to understand the new requirements posed for church foreign affairs work.
The members of the department expressed that they would explore the foreign affairs resources of Chinese churches and train more personnel capable of participating in international affairs jobs based on their research.
