Rural, Ethnic Minority Affairs Committee of CCC&TSPM Convenes First Meeting in 2024

The first meeting of the current Rural and Ethnic Minority Affairs Committee of CCC&TSPM was held in Kunming, Yunnan.

Rev. Tang Weimin, vice chairman of TSPM and director of the committee, presided over the meeting conducted from June 18 to 20, said CCC&TSPM.

Reverend Tang emphasized the implementation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee Xi Jinping’s thoughts on strengthening and improving ethnic work, as well as his discourses on religious work. He also elaborated on the duties of the current committee.

Rev. Deng Jianwei, vice director of the committee and president of the Yunnan Provincial Christian Council, explained the research plan for rural and ethnic minority churches as part of the 2024 work plan. Rev. Mao Yajun, vice director of the committee and president of the Tianjin Christian Council, elaborated on the questionnaire survey regarding rural and ethnic minority Christian activity venues for the 2024 work plan.

Subsequently, the committee members discussed the annual work plan, the research plan, the questionnaire survey, and the common issues and challenges faced by rural and ethnic minority areas, providing their opinions and suggestions.
