On July 7, Guangdong Shamian Church held an organ dedication ceremony during the Sunday service.

According to Guangdong CC&TSPM, several pastors jointly unveiled the new organ during the ceremony in Shamian Church, and Pastor Fan Hong'en, chairman of Guangdong TSPM, blessed the organ.

After the organ dedication ceremony, this mechanical organ with 366 sound tubes was first used in the Holy Communion service. This also marked the first service after the church's liturgical update, which included Gospel readings, a commissioning ceremony, and brand-new choir robes apart from the use of the organ.

This mechanical organ made in the Netherlands is an important worship accompaniment instrument in the Shamian church and the first mechanical organ in Guangdong's churches.

More than 100 years ago, Shamian Church had the first dual-manual pipe organ in Guangdong Province, specially designed and manufactured by a British manufacturer for the church.

Today, the arrival and opening of this organ are the result of more than one year's preparation, including proposal, resolution, selection, field investigation, purchase, cross-sea transportation, installation, testing, and audition. The organ manufacturer from the Netherlands carried out special unpacking and protection of the organ, which ensured that this work of art traveled across the ocean for half a year and arrived safely in the church.
