To further strengthen and standardize the construction of common courses in religious schools, Jiangsu Province has carried out the compilation and review of teaching outlines for some common courses in these schools.
Jiangsu has completed the compilation of teaching outlines for all common courses in religious schools, according to the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Commission of Jiangsu Province. Experts from the Jiangsu Provincial Party School, Soochow University, Jiangnan University, and other institutions responsible for the compilation provided detailed explanations of the teaching outlines for six common courses, including "Outline of Chinese History," "College Chinese," "Introduction to Chinese Culture," "Introduction to Religious Studies," "General History of Chinese Religion," and "Introduction to the Chinese National Community," covering aspects such as the background of the textbook compilation, innovative features, practical significance, and practical requirements.
Heads of institutions responsible for religious schools under the Jiangsu Province Buddhist Association and Jiangsu CC&TSPM, deans of religious schools, and relevant personnel from the Jiangsu Province Religious School Service Center exchanged views with experts and scholars on topics such as the allocation of class hours, teaching objectives, teaching methods, teaching content, key and difficult points in teaching, and assessment methods in the course outlines.
The Provincial Ethnic and Religious Affairs Commission stated, "This work is an important measure to implement the common course curriculum system plan by the United Front Work Department for religious schools," and the teaching outlines "make new contributions to ensure that religious schools play a key role in cultivating talents who are proficient in both religious and secular knowledge."
