United Bible Societies visited several Christian organizations in China’s southwestern Yunnan Province.
Reverend Dirk Gevers, secretary general of United Bible Societies, along with eight other members, paid visits to Yunnan CC&TSPM, Yunnan Trinity International Church, and Yunnan Theological Seminary on September 13, exchanging views on Bible ministry, church ministry, and theological education, said the church.
Rev. Shao Liliang, vice president of the Yunnan CC and director of the Yunnan Trinity International Church, introduced the church’s worship services, ministries, fellowship activities, standardized management, and efforts to advance the sinicization of Christianity. He led the guests to watch a documentary about the church and toured various areas, including the historical exhibition of Yunnan CC&TSPM, the church’s project display of “Five Entries” (into enterprises, rural areas, communities, schools, and families), the patriotism education demonstration base, and the law education contact point.
The visiting guests praised Yunnan CC&TSPM, the church, and the seminary for their achievements in promoting Christianity in the Chinese context, conducting Bible translation, publication, and distribution for ethnic minorities, and providing theological education. They expressed their willingness to exchange further and cooperate with the Yunnan church while respecting China’s sovereignty, laws, regulations, the three-self principle, and the direction of the Sinicization of Christianity.
