On September 30, the Chengguan Church of Changle District in Fuzhou, Fujian, held an inauguration and dedication ceremony for their new church.
The service and ceremony were officiated by Pastor Liu Lizhen, the president of the Changle Christian Council and pastor-in-charge of the Chengguan Church.
As the bell rang and the congregation rose to sing “Holy, Holy, Holy”, a procession of the choir and 50 pastors entered slowly.
Following the officiant’s call to worship, the pastor team led a responsive scripture reading. The choir then sang the hymns “If God Is for Us” and “May the Lord Use Me.” Pastor Chen Meiman, deputy secretary general of Fujian TSPM and former secretary general of Xiamen TSPM, delivered a sermon titled “Building a Glorious Church.” In the sermon, Pastor Chen preached on three key aspects: glorifying the Lord’s holy name (1 Chronicles 29:9-14), laying a solid foundation (1 Corinthians 3:10-11), and building on a strong rock (Matthew 16:18-19).
At the dedication ceremony, the Chengguan Church shared a brief history of the church spanning over 100 years, along with some details of the recently completed renovation project.
The thanksgiving service concluded with blessings from the pastor team, led by Pastor Chen Lifu, the president of the Fujian Christian Council and secretary general of Fuzhou TSPM. The congregation joined together to sing “I Love the Chinese Church Song.”
