An old friend of churches in China, China Partner, paid a visit to Shannixi Provincial CC&TSPM to continue the friendship and enhance mutual understanding.
On October 23, Rev. Erik Burklin, president of China Partners from the U.S., led a five-member delegation to visit the Shaanxi CC&TSPM, said the host.
During the meeting, Rev. Wang Jun, president and chairperson of the Shaanxi CC&TSPM, expressed appreciation to China Partner for its active role in promoting China’s religious policies and sharing the testimonies of Chinese churches abroad, which helps to foster understanding and dispel misconceptions.
Rev. Wang provided an overview of Shaanxi Province, highlighting its recent economic and social developments as well as the current status of the Shaanxi church. He outlined the key initiatives undertaken by the provincial CC&TSPM during the pandemic and discussed future plans. He also elaborated on the Shaanxi CC&TSPM’s efforts in advancing the sinicization of Christianity and shared insights on talent nurturing, pastoral training, and media ministry.
Responding to questions from the guests, Rev. Wang emphasized the value of friendly exchanges, mutual respect, trust-building, and addressing doubts. The guests noted that such exchanges contributed to dispelling misunderstandings and bringing benefits to a greater community.
Following the exchange, the guests visited Shaanxi Bible School in the afternoon, where they engaged in discussions with the faculty.
